some concept links...

I've been closing browser windows on my computer, since I have a bad habit of leaving everything-in-the-world open and just minimizing it so I can come back to it later on. And one of the things I had open was a thoughts-on-Beryl collection:
There's the Soom official page of course, because of the 10th panel down-- the *horribly* photoshopped one with the city in the background. And the wired or possibly held doll... But it reminds me of the weird posturing in those angel movies (the one with the war in the heavens, and the angels who had wings you couldn't see and moved accordingly?)
And then I've been thinking about
saladmonkeylamb's Goat Monkey Princess and Raven Girl and the statue that fought Anna Bloom.
And the Wood. (Kipling's wet wild wood, DW Jones Hexwood, Patricia McKillip The Book of Atrix Wolf or In the Forest of Sere maybe... and the Wood with Una's giant sacrifical tree in the other book that died half-finished on my old hard drive)
Currently, the doll-ling is threatening to throw rocks at people. Puck, just restrung, is trying to talk her out of it.

UPS estimates they'll get me my taxidermy supply order on Wednesday, probably (given their usual delivery time here) about two hours before I leave for the airport...
And I *think* I'm down to one more packing problem left to solve. (ie, what pants I own that a) fit and b) are suitable for wandering around outside in the north of England next week)

Date: 2008-09-23 03:20 am (UTC)Although I realized a horrible thing the other day-- there are no actual hoofed bipeds. If you've only got the two feet, you need the extra joint down in your foot to push off with, or you hobble around like someone in 5" heels and can't run away worth anything.
Does your Sard get pan pipes, then? That would be pretty cool...
