grauwulf had an apple of discord in his pocket, so he wasn't going to be able to catch it again in the morning. Because, of course, the horse would smell it and keep away, but he couldn't take it out of his pocket, even to give it to me, because we couldn't let the people at the hotel know we had it, lest they kick us out.
