Well, tacky as in ren faire or Vegas... a pretty boy in a pretty costume that has only the vaguest relationship to what it purports to be, and some decidedly over the top accessories. Not to mention the pseudo-Grecian name for a supposedly Egyptian god. On the other hand, people who make sheep and bull satyrs and call them succubi/incubi clearly don't know any better.
And yet when Soom does tacky it is so much more compelling than AOD tacky. I think the faces are beautiful. The feet I'm on the fence about, the ears are hysterically funny and the mishmash fake Egyptian theology -- I want to punch it. I like the outfit.
I'm pretty sure there are no known birds or dinosaurs with 3-toed back feet. It's always at least three toes facing forwards, and then the backwards facing claw, and the two toes thing looks *wrong.* Not to mention off-balance, and just weird. I want to like birdie-feet (I keep wanting, at least hypothetically, to make a harpy) but they're in blatant disregard of reality. And, um, droopy furry ears? Really?
I, um, didn't actually read their theology bit, after skimming sufficiently to feel safe in saying "If you're the supreme god of death, then I'm Isis-Astarte" and going back to the pictures... and except for the snake, you could totally buy everything you needed to make that outfit in under $30 at Michaels. Not that it isn't still absolutely fascinating, in a pretty but costuming train wreck kind of way.
He is gorgeous. So was Onyx. So is Topaz, if you overlook the strange glowy ears. And I have a thing for that style of stylized face paint. But I am also done with Soom and their lovely faces and inconveniently engineered bodies, so they'll have to come up with something better than this before I actually get another one.
