Ok, I lie-- I finished splicing more elastic into the waistband of the flannel skirt I got about a month ago so that it fits more comfortably. Um. And was once again reminded that all the seam rippers in the house appear to have been swallowed by the void. I should just go buy four or five of them and paint them construction orange, or staple them to the wall.
And I was in the fabric store yesterday, because I felt that this was preferable to being irrationally irritated with my co-workers, and flipped through the pattern book in search of inspiration, finding none. And then I recalled this pattern, which I happen to own. It seems appropriate for a garden party sort of thing. Not, I think, the one with the train long enough for other people to step on, and there is something very odd about the sleeve. (I mean, besides it needing to be re-set so it's possible to raise one's arms...) Probably more of view B than view A, except not with the tassel, and something long sleeve like would be good. And there's this thing on saturday at which there might be nice fabrics...
(although I still kind of want to go abuse the wedding industry by trying on gowns someplace and then not buying any of them. but this requires organization and planning, and co-ordinating schedules with the local half of my moral support. bah.)
