Having mainly come out of the phase where I'm constantly hungry (month of November... some coincidence there? hm...) and hoarding food or winter fat or something, I have apparently moved on to wishing to hibernate. This weekend involved extremely large amounts of sleep. Friday involved extremely large amounts of Girl Genius, which is more of a mental hibernation, although having read the entire story-so-far in under 24 hours, I am left with the strong feeling of getting half-way through a good book only to have someone take it away from me. (A good book with fantastic backgrounds...)

I also put up the first coat of very blue paint on the bedroom ceiling at [livejournal.com profile] grauwulf's (& soon-to-be-my) house, which looks semi-awesome, but needs some serious work at the corners, and then we ended up camping out on the floor in the living room, since it wasn't safe to sleep up there. This evening's endeavors involved (mostly) finishing that dress for Beryl and defeating the evil US Postal system website, which required downloading Netscape because the mailing label printing script doesn't actually work in Safari. No, you have to have IE or Netscape. What?? But there is now a package sitting by the front door which can be put outside tomorrow, and then the mail carrier will take it away with him when he comes to deliver things. Yay!

These things might actually happen faster if I didn't feel the need to do them "right." Here is the Beryl-creature in quintessential (if still unhemmed, and in need of a chemise) 14th century peasant. Only not blue. Yes, it will need to be sewn on her every time.

Girl needs eyelashes. Definitely a witch....

(there are some others, from the pre-sleeve and flatfelling incarnation of the dress, in which she was playing with a ball of yarn and pretending to be Ariadne or someone. I think she might make a better Medea-- I don't think she's quite as innocent as Ariadne, although the kinship to the bull-creature might explain some of her animal aspects...)

Thanks! I was going for more the early 15th cent French (http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/rh/img/june.jpg) (a la the tres riches heures (http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/rh/) of Duc du Berry, which I was far too lazy to look up last night) but there's not quite as much body shaping one can manage with a resin creature...

Good job on the dress. It's odd to see her all civilized and what-not. Shocking.

Civilized might be a bit of an overstatement. I mean, that hair? And no chemise? ;)
