So, for whatever it's worth, I have just paid exhorbitant sums of money for the privilege of getting locked in a testing room for four hours where I can get kicked out for doodling on my scrap paper during breaks and untimed sessions... which is to say, I'm taking the GRE on June 5 (yes, I am sinful, and that's a monday so I'll be skipping work...) Dunno where (if anywhere) I'll be sending it yet, but it's a step against the whole apathy and inaction thing, at least, so that must be the right direction, right?
But seriously, are all the mandatory tests you take in elementary school costing somebody somewhere over a hundred dollars a student? Because that's kind of horrifying... I'm all about my tax dollars going to education, but IOWA tests? What a waste.
