Has anyone else encountered the lj error screen recently? I'm rather disturbed by it...

I was going to post something fascinating and useful. I'm sure that I was... But I have been stopped in my tracks by another link. Read the scanned page. Or glance at it, skim if you will (I only read the first two paragraphs in their entirety) and then go down and click the second to the last link, for the fan-art.

I am rather astonished that I didn't find this in my reading of the Bulwer-Lyton awards published works section.

(If your brain is in need of a little un-breaking afterwards, I think I might have been going to mention the miniature shrine that I just finished up for a craftster challenge.)

Well that's a cute little doo-dad you made there. I like your choice of using maps to paper it.

We didn't stop in the little gift area at the National Gallery after the exhibit, but they had something by Bulwer-Lyton, called, I think, The Last Days of Pompeii. I half considered picking it up for the sheer potential awfulness.

I actually have that, in an old edition that looks somewhat like a reprint of the one they had on display in the exhibit. I read the intro and part of the first chapter or so, I think, some years ago, and don't remember it being quite as awful as I was expecting. But clearly it wasn't Great enough for me to read the whole thing, spellbound, either.

Are you referring to the "all your base" riff error page? Yeah, that one freaked me out pretty badly. I thought someone had hacked me or I'd picked up a virus. :/

Yes, that one. Particularly creepy since I got it by following a link in the bottom of a comment-reply that lj sent to my e-mail, so you'd *think* it wouldn't result in an error.
