Brian: [raving about some movie he saw, and how we should all watch it] ...it was funny as shit!
[pause]
me: Actually, I don't find shit particularly amusing.
Brian: You got me there. Maybe you shouldn't see it.

Kelley: Sometimes I feel like a high school teacher.

We have run out of project, and have a "rain" day tomorrow (who knows-- it might actually rain) while they sort out who is going where next week. But there is lots of work; about five or six projects upcoming and local, and at least one per diem (in Arkansas, of all places), not to mention that all the techs but me and Brian (and the new replacement Steve, if he chooses to stick with us) are either deployed to New Orleans, or likely to go off on 3-6 months of non-URS cemetery survey in Alexandria.

I remain falling-down tired (hence why I am not at fencing at this moment, although I should drop by and ask people questions, which means moving...) but a day of sleeping in and not going out in the weather and digging up floodplain (90cm+ to subsoil) will help.

It has almost stopped startling me that my doll has eyebrows. And now his vest actually buttons, too. ooh, aah.

lol- I'm always confused when people say things like that. Also when they throw in "literally" as emphasis when it doesn't make sense.

Shit appears to be the new multi-purpose modifier. Depending on what people want to talk about, it can be the standard for cold, heat, humor, toughness, tiredness, soreness, or anything else. I got so tired of this (mainly because one of the newer techs, who I think mainly started the trend, is... really lacking in social graces. Or the understanding of the need for them.) that I've started calling people on it.
