I should be writing. I should also be going to fencing, as I will actually be fencing on Saturday, and I haven't even opened the bag with my equipment in it in over a month. (That I've been sick, or close to it, for about a third of the past two months, and need to get my word count back up, is no excuse. Although if it were really no excuse I wouldn't bother to mention it.)

I should find a nice coffee shop to hang out in and write. (In fact, I even know where one is, in falls church, where they have write-ins, several people have told me it's worthy, and I have never actually been) Or possibly disable my internet for the rest of the month (although I do keep looking up story-useful things on Wikipedia) and stop reading e-mail and lj and webcomics (of which I only even read three...) and looking up the doll site to see if they've shipped my scary new doll yet. And I'm trying not to worry that I shouldn't have gotten her.

At work, I count (and sort, and weigh) rocks, and on the days I'm more tired or more sick, I never want to go back or do archaeology again. I'm kind of getting over that bit, at least at the moment. And I'm between plagues, after everyone tried to blame me when they all got sick this week, and it turned out to be Carey's fault. Which probably means I've got a lovely preview of what I get to have next week, but we'll see. (and I maintain that the various illnesses were all dug up with the rocks, and we're all going to die.)

Oh, and in other news, my father is leaving (read: getting kicked out of, due to stupid "no tenure" regulations) his current job on friday, and going to be working from home as a private "insultant" (as he keeps saying), thus meaning that a) he'll be around a lot more, at least initially, and b) negotiations are ongoing regarding forms of rent to be paid by those of the household (ie me and my brother) who have outside incomes. So far the only conclusion is that John is going to be paying for the internet.

I need to stop using so many paranthesis, and possibly even get back to all the people who have e-mailed me in the past few weeks.

Stacy's Coffee Parlor. If it were warmer, you could practically walk there. They have free wireless, friendly staff, comfy couches, and vaguely drinkable coffee (it's better than Starbucks, at least. And cheaper)

that's the one. [livejournal.com profile] grauwulf also had good things to say about it, after finding it randomly while hanging out here the week that he was doing moving things. I just have this problem with getting out of the house. Seriously... I just mailed something to someone who lives right on the far side of Fairfax Hospital.

Oh, Stacy's is absolutely awesome. We were there recently, and it's perfect for what you want.
