I recommend The Lone Star Stories Reader, as I have just read it and lots of it is good. Real book is available for order here and there's (free) PDF version here, for your e-reading or previewing pleasure. I went all squee about the Martha Wells story at the beginning, but I'd say I liked about 3/4 of it, which is pretty good odds for a short story collection. Will be ordering the print version when my mental book fund recharges. (having just bought several others...)
And also, I mentioned this before, but having now read a bunch of it I'd definitely advise readers of short fiction & fantasy to consider getting Ravens in the Library. It's a benefit anthology for SJ Tucker (a singer who is attempting not to be beggared by emergency medical bills) and has contributions from names you all have heard of before. And because it's a benefit anthology, there will only be copies available until the bills are paid, so if you want one it should go on your short list.
