home again, or working on it...
May. 4th, 2009 09:51 amWe have survived a week of marriage (thank you to those of you who expressed congratulations earlier), and enjoyed a week of off-season Bar Harbor (which was lovely and calming, and had there been any more we would have gotten bored) and now I am back in the middle of moving. I was going to start with laundry, but it's supposed to rain until Wednesday, so I think I'll hold off until I can put things out on the line. The trees have leafed out, and the back yard is very green, with the exception of some cheerfully pink and purple azaleas.
Some of the "wait, we're married" (and/or, "We're totally grown-ups! *snicker*") oddness is starting to wear off, although there's still all the name change and moving paperwork to go through. I've opted not to start that today, but I'm still somewhat in the awkward middle of concepts of "home." What exactly home is depends a bit on when and where, and a lot of it is people (
grauwulf is off at work now...) and some of it is basic familiarity, but there's also in my case a large element of it being where my stuff is. Most of my stuff is here at this point, but I'm still working on the bit about setting it up so it's usable and the place seems lived in rather than storing things. So this week there are books to re-shelve, pictures to hang, and a whole lot of stuff to sort through and re-arrange. And the kitchen, of course. Currently the fridge is full of beer and cheese & sausage tray, which doesn't do so much for dinner. Onward & upwards...

I must say that the contents of your fridge sound just peachy to me! :)
