12 hour days...
May. 27th, 2009 08:07 pmNew windows are in, although the poor techs (who went to pick up the windows from the factory at 8 this morning) just left. I've put the curtains back up, thus rescuing my chair (which I have been longing to sit in since about mid-morning) and started taking dolls off my desk so I've got space to type. The couch and
grauwulf's dresser still need to be moved back, but those are kind of two-person jobs, and then everything else is just re-rearranging the still disorganized clutter. The cat has been released from the basement, and doesn't even seem to be too mad at me. The plants have even pretty much survived trampling feet and falling debris as well.
Before and after pictures will have to wait until tomorrow, since the light is going, but all in all they seem to have done an excellent job. The most serious complication was the fact that the road construction people (who haven't been seen since friday) have had all their vehicles parked in a solid line in front of our house, and it took them until 2 pm to get someone out to move one of them out of the way so that the window guys' truck wasn't skewed awkwardly out into the middle of the road. (There was enough room to pass, but it was the sort of thing that makes one nervous.)
