15 formative books (or groups of books, so I cheat slightly...) on the list of things I've read far too many times:

(technical rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.)

Fire & Hemlock--DW Jones
The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings -- Tolkien
Memory -- LM Bujold
The Wizard Hunters -- Martha Wells
The Changeling Sea -- Patricia McKillip
The Outlaws of Sherwood -- Robin McKinley
Archer's Goon -- DW Jones
The Corinthian -- Georgette Heyer
Marelon the Magician -- Patricia C Wrede
Darkangel (trilogy) -- Meredith Ann Pierce
Charmed Life/Witch Week/The Lives of Christopher Chant -- DW Jones
The Last Unicorn --Peter S Beagle
HH Guide to the Galaxy-- Douglas Adams (only not the book, the radio plays)
The Element of Fire -- Martha Wells
Ozma of Oz -- L Frank Baum

I'm sure I've forgotten something important, but being forgotten, I fail to remember what it was.

Meanwhile, they may have finished paving the street on Friday, but they're still cleaning it up and driving noisy trucks up and down. Fie upon them. I have one more sanding, one more coat of finish, a few holes to drill, and then assembly left on the shelf I'm building, so it'll be up tomorrow. Slow, but hindered by far too much headache-induced lethargy. At least at the moment, the headache seems to be pretty much gone, though.

Still fiddling with a handful of doll things, but nothing ready yet for show and tell.

Ha! I knew there had to be someone out there besides me who had read the Darkangel trilogy.

It was one of my favorites in jr high, so I know at least one other person who I made read it at the time. :) And I've seen at least three editions of it (single hardbacks, paperbacks, and a 3-in-one hardback) so there must be others somewhere. (I'm quite fond of her The Woman Who Loved Reindeer, too.)
