Long stuff:

It is said that Grandmother Death is an old mouse, her dark fur turning silver like an autumn hare, half-blind and stiff of joints, but still keen of nose. (The Wise & Foolish Mouse, technically between drafts 2 & 3)

The thing you have to understand about me is that I'm really absolutely normal. (The Witch, the Weaver, & the Wood-- YA, ready for first edit)

Jo scraped a trowel across the dark stain in the dirt. (The Grave Goods of the Worm King --mouse archaeology/murder mystery, still about 2/3 done)

Jason fell in love with the CAT at first sight. (working title: Jason's CAT, YA or kiddie sci-fi tourbus through faerie)

The old man pointed to a great hedge of brambles in the distance. (Sleeping Beauty revision, on indefinite hold)

Shorter things:

Elizabeth built her house from stone, with the door three times as high as she could reach with her arms. (untitled sci-fi short piece)

The sign over the shop showed a broken clock, gears spilling out, and a jeweler’s hammer. (Dmitri's Shop, continuation of Dmitri's Wings)

Dearest Frederica, her aunt had written, in her sprawling overdecorated script, I am so terribly sorry to hear of your indisposition, and I hope that such a brief taste of the town gossip you have been missing as I can offer with my poor words will go some way to cheer and comfort you. (untitled, seems to be turning into a faerie abduction/rescue story?)

Gears and a jeweler's hammer reminded me of this... (http://www.online-literature.com/hawthorne/124/) Have you read it?
