Happy 4th of July!

Puck has been hanging onto this flag for some months now, since I didn't really have a good place to put either of them, so I thought perhaps he should make use of it. He and Flopsy (as in Flopsy, Mopsy & Cottontail, although I think whichever head has the body is Flopsy at any given moment...) are attempting to recreate a famous picture/sculpture they've never seen with Lady Liberty, who is possibly one of the coolest things about this house. (For those of you who look uncomprehending upon our lantern-bearing maiden and fail to see how she relates to Lady Liberty in any way, you should go forth and read Jane Langton's The Diamond in the Window. I, meanwhile, will be tracking down the three new books in the series that were released after I left off knowing what all was on the children's shelves at the library...)

And gratuitous desk spam, as promised. This is the finished thing as of this morning, and it has now gained some books and a shoe box for all the cables to live in. More stuff will continue to accumulate, but with luck it will stay up here and not take up the entire surface of my desk.
