"You're standing in ants."
Aug. 12th, 2009 04:02 pmThe world continues warm and full of ants, and I continue to be sniffly and short on sleep, although we're working on most of these. In fact, the ants are definitely out in smaller numbers this morning, which I hope is a sign that they are dying off.
I suspect I had some great and profound thing to say when I started this entry (yesterday) but what it was I fail to remember. So I will leave you with a) the quest for Monin syrups, which I have just extravagantly ordered from the manufacturer, in search of icy cold flavored beverages of my own (rather than $3 julebs that take the Inner Vagabond staff absurd amounts of time to make up and deliver to one, and which are only available at pennsic.) While we have not yet located non-online syrup retailers (at least who have flavors like Jasmine in stock) we did explore a nearby middle eastern market and return with a 1 lb brick of yeast. Clearly I need to bake something now.
And b) this dress which I, foolishly glancing at the DOA anniversary limited dress, which I don't want, discovered and am now unsure as to whether I desperately want one for my doll, or one for me. Possibly with real pockets, and a saner collar on the underdress, and definitely without the silly giant heart ties, but still... if I ever make it through the almost-finished garments at the top of the mending basket, and make myself a new purse-bag before my current one falls apart, that may go on the list of things to do.

Date: 2009-08-13 04:44 pm (UTC)I like that dress, I might be inspired to try to find some linen and make something like that to wear around the house...
I looked at the anniversary dress. I didn't like it, but I do like the shape of the vest that was part of the outfit. I could see you doing something like that vest for yourself or in different colors for the little girl doll that you have. (not lady, the one that looks like it might be trying to be skipper from Barby only with slightly more realistic proportions.)
Now I, once again, want to get a ball joint doll.
