Five questions. Reply with "RESISTANCE IS USELESS!" if you'd like some to repost in your own journal.
Who is the fictional character (created by someone else) who moves you most? (No one would even bother asking me that, right?)
I'm not sure I have a really good answer for that one, but I always wanted to be like Cordelia Vorkossigan of LM Bujold's Sci-Fi series when I "grow up." She's just got the right balance of competence and self-possession and being able to understand people and deal with them (which latter I don't actually anticipate ever having.)
When and how did you know that grauwulf was the one?
It was more of a cumulative thing than any one particular moment, but I think the last part of the decision was when we were on the last leg of a rather awful weekend where we'd moved his mother from South Carolina to Ohio with about six different things going wrong so that we got very little sleep for the entire weekend. And on the way back we were tired and cross and snapping at each other, and we had a conversation about why this was happening and how to do better next time. That seemed like the last element that had been missing in any of my previous relationships, that not only did we love each other now, but even when irritated with each other we had the patience to work out why, and try to fix it, which implied that maybe we would continue not to hate each other years from now.
How did you get into dolls?
Dolls in general were a sort of inherited taste from my mother; resins were entirely the fault of
kittymaru's customization process with Avaren, which she posted starting with him blindfolded and in a post talking about Tam Lin, and then went on to the fantastic painting on his hands... given which, I'm sort of surprised that I've never actually done any tattooing or odd painting on any of my dolls.
What is your favorite time of day and year (possibly also latitude and weather) for a certain quality of light?
I'm particularly fond of rainy gray days, although not necessarily at any particular time. Also dappled sunlight through leaves. Bright sun not so much. I don't know that I have enough experience with different enough latitudes to compare. In general, though, the whole rainy English weather works well for me in terms of both climate and lighting. (I don't know if that's what you meant to be asking, though; I haven't done enough manual settings photography to have a sense for that.)
When are you most yourself?
Er... alone or in comfortable company, I guess? I have some trouble *not* being myself (in terms of both acting and conforming to other people's standards) although I have both pseudo-social (retail) & shy/observer facades that I tend to hide behind in company with lots of strangers.

3) What's your favorite book? (or, failing that, author?)
4) What is it that you like about old-school sci-fi?
5) If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
