Darn it!

We went away for the weekend to the House of Countrified Decor (and low yellow lighting and far too much food and endless stories about obscure & mostly dead relatives of grauwulf) and came back to find out that we missed the snow!

(Also, the cat continues to have abandonment anxiety issues, which is not a good sign.)

i haven't seen snow in 2 years... and, poor kitty! you can try rescue remedy in the water, and a tryptophan supplements called quiet moments by naturvet... my cats just pee on my stuff when i go away :-P

We've got little bits of melting snow all over the lawn, but half the local people on my friends' list were going on about it.

The cat is fine by himself for a day or so, and he's ok if we have someone come in and feed him over a longer time, but the last time we were gone for a little over 3 days we're pretty sure that's what caused him to have UTI-like symptoms about a week later. This time there was some confusion about how long we were going to be gone, & so we didn't ask anyone to look after him & we're hoping that about two and a half days (with extra food) isn't going to have been too long. I may have to look into trying to drug him a bit; I wasn't really aware that there were calming options, although at this point he's mostly back to normal, if a little more affectionate. Indeed, poor cat.
