In the middle of the week with the most snow the Baltimore area has ever seen, the hawthorne cuttings I brought in began to bloom their little heads off. They're still going, amidst the mess on our side table:
I can get you some cuttings of it if you'd like; I strongly suspect I'll have to redo all my pruning after the snow melts down enough to see what broke. I've just had these in water for almost a month now (though they were slowed down by the week where we didn't have heat) and there are still little green buds appearing.
I hope you don't mind me commenting on an older post (I also hope you don't mind me adding you back). Your photo is so lovely! The flowers are gorgeous. A beautiful sight to take away winter blues.
If you don't mind me asking, when you say cuttings, do you mean that you were able to root them, maybe? I've never had luck with the whole process (I have a slight "grey" thumb when it comes to growing plants).
I didn't try to root these; they were the handful of bits I brought inside after pruning the bush. I have rooted cuttings before (mostly herbs) but something like this would probably have to be brushed with rooting hormone before it would cooperate, and I'm trying to save space for more native plants in my yard, anyway.
