things accomplished:
Apr. 20th, 2010 10:48 pmI have planted shrubs; they are mostly poor little sticks marked with flagging tape, but I have watered them and told them to grow big and tasty. I have lashed together a trellis for my peas with painted bamboo stakes and brightly colored yarn, received the lawn mower and mown the lawn, moved sod off of a garden bed around the little elm and covered it with leaves, and chopped and poisoned countless little sprouts of japanese knotweed which need a lecture on the proper behavior of hydras. I am a fan of the instant on-off feature of the electric mower, and while the turning radius is abysmal, it is light weight enough to shove about inelegantly; I have not yet mown over the cord.
grauwulf has screened in the porch in record time (ok, for us...) and while there's some trim work still to do, it can be done by either of us on a "whenever we get around to it" basis.
Indoors, I have finished one of the three large projects for this month and done several other little administrative things, which is almost surprising given how much time I've been outside. It's starting to look like I'll be able to do all the major plant stuff I want to get done before mosquito season, though, so that seems like a fair trade.
I am working on overcoming my instinctivefear distrust of sixteenth notes, and not buying more dolls for no particularly good reason.
There are probably many profound things that I might say, but at the moment I am not saying any of them; generally by the time I'm done reading craftster swapdrivel threads any thoughts I might have had sitting down to the computer have wandered off. My apologies for any decrease in interesting commentary, but as the alternatives at the moment might well be an essay on vilipensive right-wing junk mail and blame attribution amongst small children, I'm not entirely sure how much you're missing.
