If winter solstice is sunreturn, I propose a tradition of calling for summer solstice as sun-go-away, and perhaps beating upon pots and pans at whatever ungodly hour the sun comes up, or possibly just hiding indoors with the blinds drawn.

Not looking forward to August.

Meanwhile, I shall go back to adding books to librarything, as we have finally got the barcode scanner, my laptop, and the paid librarything account all in the same place, and I look forward to discovering how many books we do in fact own. Of course, I started with hardback fiction, of which more than half are new enough to have barcodes, and progress will slow considerably when I get to the old books, but so it goes. Thus far I'm rather enjoying myself.

I love having our books in Librarything. Putting in the old books is time consuming, but also pretty satisfying.

I'm finding that paperbacks are also time consuming, as the internet doesn't appear to know or care what most of their bar codes are. Somewhat frustrating, given that my paperback shelves are slightly larger than my hardback shelves without taking book size into account...

But I am enjoying things like being able to browse through all the other cover picture options.
