two sizes of little red bugs
Sep. 14th, 2010 11:56 amThe weather has improved sufficiently that I have forgiven fall for coming before winter; Sunday it even rained (beautifully, all day, after about a month of not doing so). I have been harvesting seeds from the swamp milkweed in the front garden with the dual purpose of sowing them in places currently full of nasty invasives, and not having a front garden entirely full of nothing but swamp milkweed. This morning I went for a brief wander and discovered that half a cup of seeds doesn't really go very far. On returning, I found that we have a dead rabbit in the side garden. Whatever killed it didn't do an excessively good job; there's a nice long cut along the shoulder, but most of the flesh doesn't seem to have been touched and I'm hoping I won't have to move or bury it for reasons of stench before it gets done decaying. We shall see.
Indoors,
grauwulf brought me home a copy of FFX, which has derailed both the sorting I was doing in the craft room (no, you don't necessarily want to know how much miscellaneous lace I have lying around) and all the hand-work projects I ought to be doing. I also spent a chunk of yesterday working on a short story with an oddly similar setting (well, tropical islands & sailing ships...) and the evening at a program on animal feeding habits at the aquarium, and then took
grauwulf's ipod (which is new enough to do audio recording) with me to another irish music session.
Indoors,
