The end of a large task (first drafting novels, for instance) is typically followed by that gap of looking around wondering what to do with oneself, as all the little puttery things that need doing don't have any procrastination structure to fit them into. I have plenty of directions, but no particular reason to choose one over another, and a day full of laundry and emptying the dishwasher may well be useful, but doesn't feel like accomplishing anything. The clothes and dishes will be dirty again soon enough, after all. Possibly I shall go out and build some soil, though I'd really rather leave that until the construction people really are completely done.

At any rate, I got all inspired and made something new for the Terri Windling auction, and people have actually bid on it, which is nice.

Still life with novel, timer, tea, and garden egg:

Uh... Lagoona is not actually groping the Glass Cat. I think once things calm down a bit & stuff starts to spread out, these guys may become migratory. They are good at hanging out on bookshelves preening or looking shocked.

I keep eying those dolls at Target but haven't broken down and created a collection yet.

Ah, the appeal of little plastic things... I would have stopped with Lagoona, but I had the bad influence of my resin doll friends to lead me on. :)

Lagoona is my fave. If I break down and get one (it's looking likely) it'll be her.

I ADORE seeing where people work! Sounds like NaNo was a good outing for you, A.

Sorry, I'm not getting the allure of those dolls. I wonder if it's because I have a daughter...? They just scream cheap assed toy to me.

I think that *is* the allure-- they're cheap and silly, so they make good impulse buys for those of us who always secretly regretted being "too old" for Bratz dolls when they came out. And they come in improbable colors. :)

(also, normally that's where my sewing machine lives, rather than the laptop, but there will be new glamorous pictures when I have a new and glamorous workspace in the new house-space)

They not-so-delicately push my My Little Pony buttons, and I mean the old-school ponies, not the new things with names like Derpyhooves...

(And while I hate to ask, did you get my email? Is everything all right?)

Yes-- sorry, got it on the way out the door to Boston; it's on my list of things to reply to today.
