So, there's this baby. And we don't know what sort it is yet, even in the gender-chromosome sense, so we figure this is a great time to practice our divination, and we thought we should let others play if they feel so inclined. (I have been counting apple seeds, though so far the apples are strictly alternating in their conclusions. Grauwulf has mentioned some geomancy book that's lurking somewhere in the basement, but it hasn't appeared yet.)

Anyway, rules of the game:

You can play as many times as you like, though a separate comment for each might be nice. (and, um, in case you hadn't figured that out, we don't take this particularly seriously, so feel free to be as silly as you like.)

Please include:
*gender guess for the baby
*method of divination (intuition is perfectly valid)
*date of prediction (if it's not the same as the comment)
*and anything else you feel like predicting :)

Results ongoing until we find out the real answer, which will be next Wednesday at the earliest, but more likely not for a month or so.

(Also, if you want to do something calculatey with multi-generational gender data from the family, I can do about three generations for you.)

Can you balance an egg on its end in your navel while on your back? If yes, a girl, if no, a boy.

The point end method has only a 50% success rate, while the round end is right roughly half the time. Raw egg is accurate plus or minus two standard deviations, while cooked egg is only accurate for some values of accurate.

Does that help?

Girl.
I get that feeling from this post and your last, where you made your announcement.

My "feelings" used to be accurate, but since I've gotten older and tireder, it's only 59/50.
