We've got some exciting winds ongoing, but so far everything has been pretty laid back here. The basement has decided to leak again (in slightly different places, whee) although that *may* be partly because we've had rain beating against that side of the foundation all day. And it's just seeps, so nothing too difficult to keep up with. They cancelled trash pick-up this morning, but aside from that and spotty cell phone reception, everything's been pretty normal inside the house. And we have a roof, with real shingles and everything, so as compared to last year's excitement, this is kind of a non-event so far. Despite the entire state being shut down, which I don't really remember from last year.

Assuming the power & internet hold out, I shall probably attempt to update on all the stuff I've failed to mention over the last week and a half tomorrow, but it's probable that this is a better time to sleep than type, if the wind in the oaks doesn't keep us up all night. We shall see.

Hope the rest of the east coast types are staying warm & dry; there definitely appears to be some excitement out there in other quarters.

Glad to see you're doing well, even though I'll now be singing that song all day.
...for the rain it raineth every day...

Five minutes later, Mac posted a you-tube clip of it to twitter. So it's not *only* my fault...

Sorry to hear about the leaking, but hope you made it through the storm okay.

Leaking is annoying, but having survived the wettest two months on record last year with a tarp thrown over our half-built new addition, it seems almost silly to complain about. I'm much more relieved to hear (this morning) that my grandparents in NJ made it through safely.
