Happy Hallowe'en!

So, I finished the bookshelf the week before last and then accidentally hit the "completely useless" switch in my brain for a while. Oops. Other things have happened since then, but not as much as I was planning on.
*We had a hallowe'en party (well, open house) on Saturday, which worked out ok despite having less than half the number of people we had last year. So the house got cleaned up, and we got to talk to some people, and there was food, but we're contemplating whether having the party on Sunday next year might not be worth a try. We'll see what looks like a good idea then.
*The hallowe'en costume I was going to make still isn't finished yet; I picked out steampunk as that'll also be worth bringing to Philcon in a couple weeks, but then there was that thing with useless. So this week has been a couple of pick-up costumes (ghostly in flowing white lace & stuff at the party, and black with witch's hat today, as these are things I can pull out of the closet at just about any size) and I *still* need to draft a sleeve pattern for the other dress. But after sorting through DeviantArt costume galleries, I did manage to work out something that can have a steampunkish feel without a corset, and it should continue to be something fun to wear for at least a month or two yet, and thereafter. And I can add an underbust corset later on if I feel like it.
*On Sunday, I planted some things to get watered in by the storm, and divided & repotted a bunch of the phlox that I'm saving to plant in spring (I hope.) I planted a pot of it at the foot of the big oak a month and a half ago, and the squirrels have been digging it up and mucking with it ever since, so I figured it might be better to hold off on further plantings until the fall madness is over. Unfortunately, I vastly underestimated the amount of repotting space I was going to need, and after turning the two most densely planted pots (creeping phlox) into fifteen, I ran out of dirt and usefully-sized pots in the stack I'd rounded up, so the three other cultivars are going to have to wait and get divided up later.
*Radiator baby is still clunking along; I had a follow-up anatomy scan last Tuesday wherein it was reconfirmed that she's female, and she co-operated by showing off all her fingers & lips & things that had been turned away from the "camera" in the last round. I continue pretty much mobile with irregular deviations of sleep patterns and otherwise not a lot to report except that the low rise maternity pants that worked so well at 4 months are now in the running for most annoying clothing ever. The high rise sort (of which I have one pair that fits) still stay on pretty well. Time for more sewing. Also it would be nice if ThinkGeek would get their maternity loading screen t-shirts back in stock so I could get one with more than a month left to wear it in. (I've seen other variants, but they're all glittery or otherwise non-computer-like. I do not want to look like I'm wearing some 14-year-old girl's myspace page.)
*doll people: Do any of you have recs for where to get a doll stand in a size that would work for Miss Beryl? I'm thinking saddle-style, but if you have other thoughts, do say. Thanks!
*Oh, and on Friday night (as we were madly housecleaning) the download link for The Fool and His Money finally went live. Which is to say, the sequel to my favorite childhood computer game, which my father pre-ordered for us a decade ago... I haven't done more than open it yet.
*Still haven't decided if I'm NaNoing or not yet. Maybe I should do that.
