We have new improved internet, and since we (ok, grauwulf) called to complain the day *before* the new billing cycle started, we even got a refund on the service we just cancelled. And then it snowed, beautifully snowily, all day yesterday, and all the people on the internet who've been getting snow all winter complained about it, and I sat by the window and watched birds swarm the feeder. We had juncos! I've never seen juncos on the peanut feeder before, and furthermore I thought they'd already headed back up north. But there were about five of them messing up the line to the feeder, along with all the normal species (carolina wren, carolina chickadee, tufted titmouse, downy woodpecker, & (sigh) english sparrow) and a pair each of cardinals & mourning doves hanging out on the fence for the last of the pokeweed seeds. The cat and I were much amused; the Megatherium didn't seem that interested. I did take her out for a couple moments to observe the snow firsthand, since it wasn't excessively cold.
Juncos:

It's so inclement out there's feeder-sharing going on. I mean, between birds that aren't mates! (shocking!)

(two chickadees & a junco on the feeder, another junco on the post, and there's a mourning dove hiding on the fence back there. Plus the foreground ear of Interested Cat. This is the best species-diversity of the pictures where the camera isn't focusing on the screen rather than the birds.)
Today's baby is Goth Baby:

(she has also got pink socks with hearts & heart-shaped skulls on, but since the design sits just below her knees, I would pretty much have had to pull the blanket off her to show them off.)
Goth Baby will karate chop you!

And from last week, we have Super Baby!

And it's not entirely clear from the picture, but she is sound asleep here, and not moving:

My mother talks about being impressed when I was a slightly older infant that my hands apparently weighed so little I'd sit around with my arms floating at about elbow-level. Here I think her sweater was propping them up, but the same concept applies.

Date: 2013-03-27 12:36 am (UTC)It's actually just a thrift store onesie-- weirdly, I don't think I've actually made her any wearables besides the diaper covers yet. Well, and one duck sock, but I only just started the second one.

Date: 2013-03-27 12:47 am (UTC)Yeah-- it's weird having the adult response to try to paste context on her sleep movements and things, and remembering that she doesn't *have* any context.
