1) It appears that my post with pictures from last week completely failed to cross-post to lj. For those of you on the lj-side who are interested in carrion flowers and/or baby pictures, it is now here: "Sometimes the flowers are more disturbing than others." Also of note, the carrion flower appears to have been self-polinating.

2) Don't bother inviting us to your wedding. Even if nobody's dying that month, we will manage to lose the invitation and discover at the last minute that we have no idea where it is being held because the card labeled "directions" only contains directions to your recommended hotel.

3) If you are planning a wedding, make sure you have at least enough of a wedding website so that any of your nearest and dearest who have managed to lose the little bits of paper you sent to them will be able to look up *when* and *where* your wedding is about to occur.

I have a massive pet peeve against people who leave any of the following out of invitations: explicit address*, time of event, contact information for questions.

If I am stressed and tired and having a bad time navigating, this will raise the barrier on my attendance enough that I am likely to just stay home.

*"Tammy's house" is not an explicit address that my nav system understands. Nor is "Event Manor". If I have to google to get street number and name and zip, your directions are not good enough.

Lj was having issues, I think. I had problems cross-posting too, and ended up jusy copy-pasting entries over.

I have never seen a carrion flower before. What an odd plant.

Your little one is beautiful. She seems so happy. :)

There are a whole bunch of ant and fly pollinated flowers that mimic rotting meat-- apparently the corpse flower in the National Botanic Garden just bloomed recently, and it's about the size of a person. (Fortunately, at least outside, this one wasn't too smelly for us.)

Thanks!-- She does smile a lot, though most of the pictures we have of are of her staring very seriously at the camera. :)
