I got my Arlington Cemetery family pass today

The Megatherium, released from the horrors of being stuck in lunchtime rush traffic in the car between her uncle and his girlfriend. (Ok, also her tooth was coming in.)

The black smudge in my hand is her bonnet, which didn't actually get photographed while on her head. (When I was 14, we were visiting missions in California and I said something about taking off my hat to go into the church, at which point my father explained to me that actually in the code of conduct where men take off their hats before going into churches, women are actually supposed to wear special hats for the occasion. So the Megatherium & I wore hats for the funeral service, though I'm pretty sure we were the only ones. I shall now return to my previous practice of making sure I wear a skirt if I happen to go to a church service & considering hats to be optional.)



The horses were absolutely fascinating.
