Floor joists, smelly tar sealant around the foundation, and look, we've got another basement window hole:
And we have a sump pump in place, and they're not quite completely done yet, but the thick yellow beam is one of three super reenforced bits (er, supposedly mimicking the strength of a steel I-beam?) put in place to fix the sagging corner... which when we got here was held up by a 2x4 prop, which we matched with a proper [load-jack? I've only heard it said...] column and promptly ignored:
And now we get to keep an eye on Miss Irene, who's supposed to blow through on Sunday sometime, with all the wind and rain thereto appertaining. The forecast thus far seems more worried about New England than about us, but um... yeah. Not so interested in having the back of the house open and partly de-sided when there's an extra-large hurricane coming through. We shall see.
