I had only recently discovered that Maurice Sendak was still alive, and now he isn't anymore. At least all my picture books are on a shelf now, so I can go reread some things.
Aside from that (and the last master naturalist class, which is also sad, though in a completely different way), I have about a day and a half to decide if I actually want to go to the panels at the Nebulas. (er, this)
On the one hand, it's nearby, full of potentially interesting people, and I actually *know* at least one actually interesting person (
fwilde) who is going to be there. On the other, it's the weekend before Balticon, to which I've already got a membership, more expensive than a lot of multi-track cons, and most of the panels seem to be targeted towards "hard" SF, which I don't really have a lot of interest in.
