World Fantasy went relatively well; I soaked in a bunch of industry conversation, went to a bunch of panels not all of which were disappointing, waved to various people, met others, and got to talk to a surprising number who had not in fact forgotten my existence in the last two years of not going to anything. So that was nice. And despite a half-hour of averting potential family crisis from afar, I did not have to bring my child to any of the convention, so that was nice for both of us, I think. Oh, and I gave away all of the 20+ vote pins I made up on Thursday, tho I didn't get through all my flags, and need to unlazy myself enough to go find them homes despite today's rain.
Now I am contemplating November & how it's been about two months since the Megatherium began kindergarten, and probably about time to start pushing my brain back into recreating a writing process. My brain may still feel rather like swiss cheese (tangy but full of holes) but rest only gets you so far, after which the next step is "Just do the thing." I hope I'm there; we'll see. Of course, this week we have no school for election day (since so many of the public schools are polling places) and then early closings on Thursday and Friday. But so it goes.
