recommendations, anyone?

So, my phone contract is up for renewal, and I've been looking at replacement phones I can get for free. And I've somewhat randomly picked out the razr and the Samsung SCH-a930 to consider... (see them here?)
Does anyone have any input or suggestions? Keeping in mind that this is through Verizon, and that my current phone hasn't even got a color screen, and my text message interface involves cycling through the letters assigned to each key... Either of these is way more phone than I need. But I figure if I get a phone with a camera, for those field situations where you've suddenly stumbled upon a model T ford, or a bowling ball in your shovel test, and don't happen to have a real camera there, I want one with the highest resolution that seems to be available... Oh, yeah, and I'd really like to be able to download one ringtone, that doesn't exist elsewhere, off my computer. Getting ones online is totally not of interest to me. :)
All other things being equal, I'm a little more likely to get the razr, having actually met one and not found the experience too traumatic. Or, um, not actually upgrade after all, which is always an option...
