thanateThe last event (a very brief meeting between Argent and his yet-to-be-discovered as ancestor Mousus the Warrior) is absolutely terrible, but I have completed this version of chapter 9, some of which holds together rather better than the last version. And at such time as I actually go fetch Virgil out of storage, I can fix some of the end of this. For the moment, it's sufficient to move on...
Some mostly pointless statistics:
Today is "back up your novel day," which means that this time last year I was at the point where I had to begin the rewrite... (so theoretically, if I could finish 4 more chapters than I've still got left by the 26th or so last year, I shouldn't (ha) have a problem now...)
Last year, I spent most of the month sitting in front of my computer, since I wasn't employed for most of November.
My chapter lengths for the rewritten chapters are so far averaging about 400 words longer than the originals. Which, given that I have another 17 chapters, is not a useful trend in terms of speedy novel-completion.
My tracker, which has been butchered to the point of maybe not actually giving me useful results, thinks today is the first time I'm "in the green" (ie, on track to finish in November) This is probably because it is calculating to 65k with the added word count that I began with, and not due to any actual productivity on my part.
It is very hard to write while life is being distracting (although today I seem to have managed rather well, all things considered) and I am very tired, so I am going to bed. mmm, sleep... (ok, that wasn't really a statistic)
