why is it that, if uninterrupted, I seem to be able to produce between 500 and 1k words between 11 and midnight, with my eyes trying to fall closed because I'm totally exausted, and yet don't seem to be able to manage more than maybe 3 or 4 hundred words previous to that? gr, phoey.

Ok, never mind, I'm just whining. I'm going to go out and get dripped on by wet trees now...

obviously you didn't pull enough all-nighters as an undergraduate and are attempting to make up your requisite late-night word quota a few years after the fact. Or something. I hope the trees weren't too soggy. Drip drip.

Actually... I don't think I pulled any. I generally checked out at about 3 in the morning. But I'm sort of wondering if I get to a certain point where I'm just too tired *not* to focus on something (not that this actually makes sense or anything) and so I just kind of type stuff, which is supposedly the point of NaNo anyway. And given that I know more or less where I'm going with all this, it's about what I need to do anyway.

And it turned out to be a lovely day.
