Steve: There is a God. He has three heads, but...
Meanwhile, I continue to dig up small, often nearly impossible to distinguish from subsoil, features that might once have contained posts. The highlight of the week was yesterday, when instead I got to dig up burnt trash, with fish scales in it. (That was quite exciting, and Mike was jealous that I got to that feature before he did. And the funniest bit is that I'm not being at all sarcastic in saying so.) And tomorrow it may rain. Possibly before we are murdered in our beds. (ok, only
Three of the four previews before Apocalypto were about mass murderers, too-- maybe they figured that anyone who wanted to come see a reputedly bloody "period" film (not getting into what period they think it was, but anyway...) would be into that? I don't know. Mary and I kept looking at each other and saying, "well, I'm not going to go see that one," although I do admit to some faint curiosity as to what the monster is going to be in "Primeval" since they say it's "the most [ok, I forget the adjective- savage? prolific?] killer" ever, that it is not human, but it digs mass graves to bury its victims. Which sort of implies it's not a rogue crocodile or anything. Personally, I think it ought to be some sort of ancient mad god, but this seems unlikely... And if I were a mad god that went around killing people, I'd be unlikely to hide the evidence. Towers of bones and rotting flesh and files and plagues and things would be more likely to satisfy that sort of appetite, I'd expect. Come to think of it, I'm rather glad not to be that sort of mad... (the fourth preview was for "Senneca Falls" which actually looked potentially worthy, although, being me, I am unlikely to bestir myself to see it.)

Date: 2007-01-06 09:16 pm (UTC)Incidentally, back from Vegas. The strip show was fairly tame but definitely entertaining. Now it's back to the joys of 71 degree weather (in Philadelphia! in January!! aahhh!!!) and the annoying fact that the outlet my washing machine plugs into has spontaneously stopped working. As I found out after adding the soap. Now it's running off an extension cord. Yes, this seems like a bad idea to me too. Sigh.
Burnt trash sounds thrilling, by the way.
