Pan's Labyrinth! You should all go see it. But be prepared-- technically it has a happy ending. But most of the cast dies to get there. And not just the ones you want to. Very dark. But very good, also. And pretty and things.

I was surprised by the amount of the spanish I actually understood without the subtitles, too; a lot of it is basic conversational stuff that I still remember. Although I'm entirely confused as to where "pan" got into it, as the faun of the spanish title (El Labarinto del Fauno) refuses to give a name, saying that his names are all unpronouceable except by wind and trees and things. Oh well.

I REALLY want to go see it, but the closest it's playing is DC. Hopefully I can find someone to haul me up there and back for it!

if you can't make it up here in the next two weeks or so, check here (http://www.panslabyrinth.com/tickets/) and see if it makes it to richmond on the 26th. You guys are not on the list of next week's delayed release cities, but they're promising lots more for two weeks from now that they haven't posted yet. So keep an eye out. :)
