Um, yes: Post 10 things of not-common-knowledge about yourself. Tag 10 people (don't you love chain letters?) who are then requested to repeat the process in their own journals. If everyone does this faithfully, we could get the whole world in on it and be repeating ourselves in about two weeks, what do you say?

1. I was once poisoned by a book. (it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and that was probably at the point when I was most allergic, having been unable to avoid smokers for the 4 years I was in college... and of course I was dumb and kept reading.)

2. I am the tallest of my female relatives for about three generations in any direction (although possibly some of my cousins' kids might outgrow me when they get older.)

3. Because my father was on a submarine when I was born, I spent the first few months of my life in a house with my mother and her youngest sister, both of whom have longer than waist length hair. I think this may have been a case of early imprinting. :)

4. In fact, I once realized (somewhat to my distress) that I tend to evaluate people to an arbitrary standard of worth based on how long their hair is. It's not something that will actually affect my decisions or anything, but I just have this innate feeling that people with longer hair are somehow better. It's kind of embarrassing to find oneself so shallow...

5. When I was a kid I buried a dead mouse with great ceremony in a coffee can--one of the square sort, with plastic lid-- in the corner of the backyard. It wasn't a particularly special mouse; we'd just found it dead somewhere.

6. There are dried thistle flowers pinned to my bulletin board.

7. I may be the only person (at least of my generation) who can say that I grew up in the storytelling community of Washington, DC.

8. When I was twelve, I wanted to paint the walls of my room blue-violet, and the trim and ceiling black. Fortunately I never got around to it.

9. I own a real horse skull, whose name might or might not have been Arroyo in life. It was given to me by possibly the sketchiest man I've ever had the misfortune to know.

10. I will occasionally ask people if I can have their knucklebones when they're done with them. Unfortunately, the only people who have agreed to this are around my age, and not likely to cease to need them anytime soon.

It wasn't that I was not paying attention, more like I had not yet been introduced to the magnificence of this place in which you record your being.

well, the sentence originally said something about your not being on my journal yet, only then I went back to link to the entry, and I'm pretty sure we had in fact met at that point. Though I could be delusional.
