thanatestill sick, phoey, although my throat stopped hurting as painfully as it has the past few days, so I'm mostly just sniffly and getting to naptime again after being awake for half an hour or so, so not too bad. And there's nothing going on except smyrna labelling, which only has a deadline of hours charged to it, not a time by which it desperately has to be done. So while I'm feeling inefficient I'm welcome not to make it in to the lab. Field work was theoretically supposed to start back up tomorrow, but since the forecasts say "snow all day" this seems somewhat unlikely, and I expect to be ready to rejoin the living by wednesday or so.
Meanwhile I've looked at a map, and am contemplating driving down to gulf wars and doing a little of the wandering the southeast I keep not getting around to on the way... it currently looks like nobody I know terribly well is likely to show up until wednesday or so, so if I leave on sunday I should have time to drive the whole blue ridge parkway, wander around the great smoky mountains, and see rock city, or some other equally interesting itinerary on the way down. Sounds like time for a trip to AAA for tourbooks when I feel up to leaving the house again.
