I'm kind of a fan of this night thing. It's cool and not bright out, which is nice.

But anyway, I made it out of the house briefly, and went to K-mart. And I have found the pair of shorts I've been looking for for some time now. They actually *fit*, have a waist at the waist, end just below the knee when I'm standing, and have cargo pockets with buttons instead of velcro that wears out and looks dumb. The ironic thing is that they're a Boy's size 16 Husky (ie, the largest size in the boy's section). None of the women's pants actually fit in the back, and even the ones that claim to be waist-high are about 3" below my waistline. Hence why they gape open at the back and the inseam is too tight... And the occasional ones that do fit look terrible. Go figure.

I hate pants shopping. So why I right now want to go to GAP (which is my new!favorite jeans-buying store and buy 3 pairs of jeans is completely beyond me. But. It's all about the fit and how NO ONE MAKES PANTS THAT FIT ME PROPERLY. I generally assume that all other women have this exact same problem becuase sadly, there are fewer measurements for our curvier bodies than men need to remember when they go pant-shopping.

yeah, pretty much. I haven't really talked to anybody who doesn't have some sort of pants fit problems, although I suspect the people who don't just quietly go about their lives wearing pants that fit and the rest of us never hear about it. But seriously, the one pair of capris that I tried on that did fit perfectly looked so awful! They followed all the contours of my hips so that I couldn't have put anything in the pockets if I'd tried, and just ended up looking bad. It's all very well to have hips that dip in right above the thigh when you're not wearing clothes, but I don't approve of fashions that accentuate that. Especially in cargo pants, which should really not have an ultra-tailored sort of fit. Ugh! And what is with the mandatory dropped waist so you have to wear cropped tops or lose definition of the waistline?
