I have walked in Roman ruins. I have looked out the window of the ladies' toilets over the spring of Minerva Sulis, and taken the waters in the Pump Room ("It tastes like pennsic water," said [livejournal.com profile] grauwulf). I have walked in ancient stone circles, ruined cathedrals, and the footsteps of all the pilgrims to Canterbury, marveled at ancient earthworks, spent more money on trains than I care to contemplate, seen more sheep than I can count, and looked upon the colossal stonework of the palace of Ninnevah, and the Elgin Marbles. (er... I can't quite account for the fact that I somehow failed to be aware that the Elgin Marbles were actually all the good bits left from the Parthenon...)

Possibly combined with 9 hour flights and all that... I got sick (slightly) on the way out, and today I'm freezing and slightly headachy, which is silly given that it's warmer here than it has been where I was for the last week and a half. At any rate, I'm pretty much caught up on e-mail, and have looked at about as much lj as I'm going to, with the possible exception of a run through the doll-underwear pics later on. I think I'm about done with the computer for a while, although there are several thousand pictures to be dealt with soon. For the moment, though, I think it's time to unpack everything and then see about doing horrible things involving dremmels and a dust mask to Beryl-creature's eye sockets so that she can actually wear the eyes that turned up right after I left.

I am also pleased to report that I have not missed fall after all, and the *cough* virginia creeper in England was much redder than the vines here. Mmm leaves. Now if only my nose weren't so cold...

Ok, I have no idea what I'll be working on yet, but I have signed up. And am contemplating [livejournal.com profile] astormorray's thoughts of nursery rhymes, because they're fun.

Who else is playing this year? (I'm thanate on the nano site, too, although the only thing I do there is update word count, which happens here, too...)
